D Pad for GP2X

I've had my gp2x for about 2 years now, and I've played the hell out of it. Big retro gamer, and this handy little device has given me more entertainment then any other portable gaming system I've ever had. Unfortunately, I seem to be wearing out my d pad. I noticed this last night while playing Zelda: Oracle of Ages, Link started having a lot of trouble moving in a straight line when I pressed up. It's not limited to this one game though, moving through the menus has gotten much more difficult and I've even lost some worthy save states along the way because of it. I love my gp2x, any advice on how to possibly fix it without having to invest in the new model?

I've seen videos of people who have actually modded their GP2X Wiz with a custom D-Pad.

For example:

I haven't done anything like that myself, but it's not unheard of. It certainly sounds feasible to replace and/or fix your D-Pad without having to part with your Wiz. I hope this helps & good luck!
