I tried it using the Neo Geo emu to run it and it went as far as doing a dump it said it needed but it never finished the dump.I tried loading it in Final burn and it tries to load it and then stops, does Final burn need you to select certain settings for it to load properly? Has anyone on here loaded it using the Neo Geo emu on the wiz,if so how?

No problem - I'm glad to have helped, and thanks again for turning me on to an amazing Neo Geo title. I might post a tutorial in the future of how to create graphics dump files.

As to MAME, you probably figured it out already but to run Neo Geo titles just copy the bios file neogeo.zip into the roms directory. It should work after that.

Cheers!

I had linked to the dump file in my original reply, but here it is again:

blazstar.gfx.zip

Just unzip the .gfx file and put it in the roms subfolder with the original rom. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions...

I'm happy to report that I was able to get this working successfully. Wow I must say it's an amazing title with superb graphics, sound, and game play. I'm just surprised at myself that I never bothered to try it before!

Anyways, on to the technical details in hopes that you will be successful with this as well. First, I recommend using GnGeo as the emulator because it seems to handle the Neo Geo titles the best.

Since Blazing Star (blazstar.zip) is a pretty large title you will need to create a graphics dump file. I used a utility called NeoGeo: Dumpgfx Win (it's pretty straightforward) to create blazstar.gfx, which I placed in the "roms" subfolder of GnGeo along with the original blazstar.zip ROM. It ran just fine after that.

I hope this explanation makes sense and let me know if you have any other questions about this!
