I've only tested by having the SD card already in there during power-up. Not sure how the Wiz would handle adding or removing a card once it's already on...

So its not like sensitive to whether its in or out when you turn the wiz on? It seems to know its in there but doesnt always acknowledge any of the files

I haven't heard of many problems with the Wiz hardware at all, but as with anything, defects are a possibility. I do hope that it's the memory card and not the Wiz itself! Try using a standard SD card up to 4 GB during your testing (although I do know of others using 8GB without an issue). If you do find that it appears to be an issue with the Wiz you can contact the merchant or even the manufacturer directly and they should be able to send you a replacement. Good luck !

Its a 8GB SDHC (Transcend) makes sense to try another one, worried it might be my wiz cause another problem is the headphones I use need to be somewhat ajared to get sound out of both sides. Has it been a common thing for people to get defected wiz's?

Hmm that's weird. My SD card is a 4GB FAT32 and it hasn't given me an issue. What's the capacity of your SD card? You might want to try using a different SD card as a test to see if the Wiz reads it without an issues. Basically a process of elimination. If the Wiz is fine with another SD card then there is something weird with the one you're currently using. If it still has an issue then maybe your Wiz has a problem??
